Biography

Born 1658 in Brussels , where he was baptised 5 December; died 1702 in Brussels or more probably in 1719. Some biographers claim that Bout received his artistic education as a pupil of Wouwerman. In 1671 he was a master in Brussels, then was active for a number of years in Paris, before returning to Brussels in 1677, where he married on 9 August 1695. Comment on works: Landscapes; Figures.
