Biography
Eisen was noted for creating small scenes for use in book illustrations. He was popular due to his light style and talent at representing an incident or theme to be illustrated. His drawings were used in nearly 400 books during his lifetime and remained in use through to the first decade of the 19th century. He was the father of Christophe-Charles Eisen.
