Biography
A favorite and devoted pupil of Ingres who, after being exposed to monumental decorative tradtions in Italy, became a leading muralist in Paris. Notable examples of his work are in the churches of St. Vincent-de-Paul and St. Germain-des-Prés. French painter, muralist.
