Biography
Although biographical details are scarce, this prolific artist is represented in many European museums. According to some critics he was a pupil of the Carracci brothers, but there is no evidence to support this. He worked for the ducal palace of Modena between 1602 and 1606, then entered the service of Duke Ranuccio of Parma from 1607 to 1615 as first painter to the court, where he was highly favoured.
