Biography

Ludwig was heavily influenced by the literature his friend Friedrich Schlegel and the Catholic Viennese Romantics brought him into contact with. His work of the 1820s was concerned exclusively with religious and literary themes but he turned more to landscape in the 1830s. Comment on works: portrait
