About Gherardo Cibo

1512–1600

From an old noble family, great grandson of Pope Innocenz VII. He was the creator of an herbarium, which was found in London in 1989. It was formerly attributed to Ulisse Severino da Cingoli, whose name is inscribed together with others in the botanical records in the work, but who has been confused with the author of the work.
