About René Charpentier

1680–1723France

Charpentier won the Prix de Rome, however, he did not study at the French Academy in Rome. He spent time in Berlin working with the architect Jean de Bodt. When he returned to Paris he worked with Girardon and did a series of etchings at his gallery in the Louvre called 'Galerie de Girardon.'
