Son of Johann Daffinger (died 1796), who was a painter at the Kaiserliche Porzellanmanufaktur in Vienna. Son of Johann Daffinger (died 1796), who was a painter at the Kaiserliche Porzellanmanufaktur in Vienna. Daffinger became one of the most sought after portraitists in Vienna and was friends with many influential people in the arts and sciences. Later in life he abandoned the genre and devoted himself to creating precise watercolor illustrations of the native flora of Austria. Comment on works: portrait; miniature; porcelain
