About Luca Signorelli

1436–1523Republic of Florence

Italian painter from Cortona and an older relative of Vassari. Signorelli's style is bold with clear outlines and an emphasis on pronounced muculature. His best-known works are the frescoes that depict the Apocalypse at the chapel of S. Brizio, Orvieto cathedral, 1499-1502. These works influened Michelangelo's "Last Judgement." Italian artist.
