Biography
Talented painter who died young in the explosion of the Delft gunpowder magazine. He often worked on a small scale with a loaded brush; his small surviving body of work reveals his interest in color harmonies and perspective. He probably influenced Vermeer. Comment on works: Landscapes; Views
