Biography
Member of an Italian family of painters. Guercino was the brother-in-law of Cesare's father, Ercole, and many members of the Gennari family worked with Guercino and his studio, including Cesare. After Guercino died, Cesare, along with his brother Benedetto II, ran his studio. Cesare's "Penitent Magdalene" (ca. 1662) is a good example of his accomplished painting style.
