The 6 of Collars from the Cloisters Playing Cards represents a remarkable survival from fifteenth-century Burgundian court culture. This complete deck of fifty-two illuminated playing cards, dated circa 1475-80 and attributed to the Southern Netherlands under Burgundian rule, constitutes the only known complete set of ordinary playing cards (as opposed to tarot) from this period.
