Een dienstmeid uit Keulen, met een heuplange wijde cape, die rond het voorhoofd aansluit. Gerimpelde platte kraag afgezet met kanten strook. Nauwsluitend lijf met bragoenen en strakke mouwen op enkellange gerimpelde rok van lichte kleur versierd met twee horizontale banden boven de zoom. Gerimpeld wit schort. Open schoenen met blokhak. Diepe mand aan de linkerarm.

Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677) was a prolific Bohemian etcher who became one of the most accomplished printmakers of the seventeenth century. Born in Prague, he trained under Matthäus Merian in Frankfurt before entering the service of Thomas Howard, Earl of Arundel, in 1636.
