This exquisite gold bowl, tentatively dated to the 10th–16th century, hails from a possible Colombian culture in the pre-Columbian Americas. Standing just 3-1/2 inches (8.9 cm) tall, its petite scale belies the monumental skill required to craft such a precious metal container. Acquired through the generous gift and bequest of Alice K.
