Callot maakte een eerste versie van de prentserie 'Capricci di varie Figure' in Florence rond 1617. Omdat deze in relatief zachte koperplaten was geëtst en snel sleet, maakte hij een tweede in Nancy in 1621. De twee versies zijn slechts op details van elkaar te onderscheiden. De reeks die het Rijksmuseum bezit, bestaat op 1 prent (RP-P-OB-21.081) na uit Franse exemplaren d.d. 1621. Klinkert, C.
