Giovanni Jacopo Caraglio’s engraving *Diogenes* captures the eccentric Greek philosopher in a moment of quiet contemplation. Active during the height of the Italian Renaissance, Caraglio (c. 1500–1565) was among the skilled printmakers who helped spread classical ideals across Europe.
