Christus zit tussen soldaten op het plein voor het gerechtsgebouw van Pilatus. Hij draagt een mantel en krijgt een stok als scepter in zijn hand, soldaten drukken de doornenkroon op zijn hoofd en omstanders reageren spottend door voor hem te knielen.
