Created in 1876, *Illustration Nouvelle* is an etching by François-Nicolas Chifflart, linked with V. Cadart. This print demonstrates the etching process, in which artists incise designs into a metal plate that is then treated with acid to produce detailed lines and tonal effects. Measuring roughly 24 by 16 centimeters in the plate area, the work reflects the technical precision prized in nineteenth-century printmaking.
