Twaalfde prent uit een serie van twaalf prenten die de 'Fabeln und Erzählungen' van Gotthold Ephraim Lessing illustreren. De scènes werden op een plaat geëtst. Een latere staat van deze serie is ook gebruikt in: Almanac de Gotha contenant diverses connoissances curieuses et utiles pour l'annee 1780. Gotha, C.W. Ettinger.

Daniel Nikolaus Chodowiecki (1726–1801) was a German painter and printmaker of Polish-Huguenot descent who became the most celebrated graphic artist in 18th-century Germany.
