About the Artist
Jan Veth · 1864–1925
Known primarily as a portrait painter and an art critic. He was a spokesman for the Amsterdam Impressionists, and his writings were influential on his contemporaries. After 1890, he associated himself with the Symbolists. Comment on works: lithographer
