About Willem Romeyn

1614–1704Netherlands

Dutch painter and draughtsman. In 1642 he was a pupil of Nicolaes Berchem in Haarlem. His earliest dated painting is from 1645. By 1646 he had become a master of Haarlem’s Guild of St Luke, of which he was an overman in 1659–60 and 1677. In 1650–51 he was living in Rome. Comment on works: Landscapes
