About this artwork

Not to be confused with the 18th-century family of artists of the same name, Nicolas Cochin was born in Troyes and began his artistic career as a painter on glass. He soon discovered the prints of Stefano della Bella and Jacques Callot and devoted his talents to making copies of these and the work of other masters.
