Engelse vrouw, staand op een traptrede, met de rechterhand de japon iets ophoudend. Het haar is kort en gekruld, zonder hoofddeksel. Japon met decolleté waarlangs een parelsnoer en waarover een stola van bont. Parelketting om de hals. In de linkerhand een grote mof van bont. No. 7 uit de serie Ornatus Muliebris Anglicanus.

Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677) was a prolific Bohemian etcher who became one of the most accomplished printmakers of the seventeenth century. Born in Prague, he trained under Matthäus Merian in Frankfurt before entering the service of Thomas Howard, Earl of Arundel, in 1636.
