This delicate porcelain dish, catalogued as BK-1983-9, was created by the Oud-Loosdrecht between about 1782 and 1784. Standing just 6 centimetres high with a diameter of 29.5 centimetres, the low, wide form suggests a serving plate or shallow bowl typical of refined tableware produced in the Netherlands during the late eighteenth century. Its soft, luminous surface reflects the factory’s ambition to master European porcelain techniques at a time when such wares were still largely imported from Asia or Germany.
