About Erhard Altdorfer

1475–1562Germany

Erhard was a pupil of his brother, Albrecht, buy may have been influenced by other masters of the Danube style such as Lucas Cranach and Jorg Breu. In 1512 he became court painter and architect to the Duke of Mecklenburg at Schwerin, and remained there until 1561.
