Toneelvoorstelling in de open lucht. Rechts op de voorgrond, bij een distel, liggen een man en een vrouw in het gras, zij wijst met de hand naar een toneelvoorstelling. Voor het podium heeft zich een menigte verzameld, links een pannenkoekenbakster, in het midden kinderen met een bokkenwagen, rechts een officier te paard. Op het toneel een dansend paar en een vioolspelende harlekijn. Het toneel is versierd met wapens van de provincies.
