This exquisite vase, crafted around 1899 by Louis Comfort (1848–1933), the American artist's pioneering contributions to decorative arts during the Gilded Age. Tiffany, son of the famed jeweler Charles Lewis Tiffany, founded Tiffany Studios and revolutionized glassmaking with his innovative Favrile technique—a process that created shimmering, iridescent surfaces mimicking ancient Roman glass.
