Über Vermittlung des neapolitanischen Vizekönigs Wirich Philipp Graf Daun beauftragte Prinz Eugen spätestens im Jahr 1720 Francesco Solimena mit dem Altarbild für die Schlosskapelle des Oberen Belvedere.
