About this artwork

Porcelain with this dense floral millefleurs decoration and a multitude of overglaze enamel colors was first made in the Qing dynasty imperial workshops in Beijing, patronized by the Yongzheng emperor who reigned during 1723–35. This design must have been challenging for porcelain painters to master and remained popular into the late 1800s.
