**Pietro di Gottardo Gonzaga** (also known as Pierre Gothard Gonzague) was an Italian theatre set designer, vedutist, and master of chiaroscuro and trompe-l’œil optical illusions, celebrated for his deceptively realistic yet fantastical stage sets.
