Gabriel Perelle (1604–1677) was a French printmaker celebrated for his precise topographical views of Paris and its surroundings. Created between 1670 and 1703, “L’Hôpital de St. Louis” captures one of the city’s most important early modern medical institutions. Although the exact printing technique remains unknown, the work’s classification as a print underscores Perelle’s contribution to the era’s growing tradition of reproductive imagery that documented urban architecture for a wider audience.
