About this artwork

Antonio Rossellino was the youngest and most notable member of a family of sculptors and architects prominent in Florence during the 1440s and 1450s. He trained in the family studio under his oldest brother, Bernardo, and developed a lively sculptural style noted primarily for his sensitively rendered marble figures of youths, as well as reliefs of the Madonna and Child.
