In een gothische omraming, in de vorm van een kerkportaal bevindt zich in hoog reliëf de Maria-Boodschap met links de knielende engel, vrijwel geheel van terzijde gezien en rechts de staande H. Maagd. Zij houdt in haar linker hand een boek, de andere is geheven. De engel heeft in de linker hand een spreukband en wijst met de andere op de tekst.
