About this artwork
Waarschijnlijk liet Marcantonio Raimondi zich inspireren door verschillende bronnen en stelde hij zelf een compositie samen. Mars lijkt afgeleid van een studie van Raimondi naar de Belvedere torso (zie Shoemaker 1981, p. 76).
