Engelse vrouw, staand in profiel naar rechts, met op het afhangend haar een mutsje afgezet met kant. Vanaf de nek tot over de schouders een dubbelgevouwen halsdoek afgezet met een brede strook geschulpt kant, middenvoor gesloten met een strik. Japon bestaande uit een lijf met hoge taille en 7/8 mouwen, afgezet met een strook kant, op een lange rok met wit schort. Lange handschoenen. No. 24 uit de serie Ornatus Muliebris Anglicanus.

Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677) was a prolific Bohemian etcher who became one of the most accomplished printmakers of the seventeenth century. Born in Prague, he trained under Matthäus Merian in Frankfurt before entering the service of Thomas Howard, Earl of Arundel, in 1636.
