Created around 1546, *Pagan Child Couple* emerges from the vibrant artistic circles of sixteenth-century Siena. Attributed to the circle of Domenico Beccafumi, known as Il Mecarino, the drawing reflects the graceful, elongated figures and elegant poses characteristic of Mannerist taste. Beccafumi himself was celebrated for his inventive approach to light and movement, qualities that seem to echo here even if the sheet was produced by a close associate or follower.
