About this artwork

Architectural and botanical sketch of a palm tree and tiled housetops in Ecuador. Gable of a house, crowned with red tiles, comprises the foreground, with another similar structure in the background. A palm tree intercedes between the two buildings. Its fronds, rendered with great detail and care, subtly sway in the wind. Two black birds are perched atop a frond at right. The tree's coconuts are visible at center. Background sky hazily rendered in a shade of golden gray.
