Art Historical Context

This bound print captures the elegant ceiling design of the Salon de Madame la Princesse de Rohan, viewed from the side opposite the windows. Created by French architect and designer Germain Boffrand after 1745, it preserves a vision of refined 18th-century French interior decoration. Boffrand, celebrated for his graceful Rococo style, brought lightness and ornament to aristocratic spaces, and this print offers a window into one of his later projects.
