Een ruïne met een poort, wellicht de Porta Furba in Rome. Op de voorgrond in het landschap zijn twee figuren met elkaar in gesprek. Prent maakt deel uit van een serie Romeinse ruïnes en kustlandschappen naar prenten van Willem van Nieulandt. Deze serie is een kopie van de serie, die Claes Jansz Visscher naar Van Nieulandt maakte.
