In the late 18th century, designer Richard de Lalonde the elegance of contemporary tableware in his print *Soupière dont la tient du Moderne avec Plat et Cuillère* (ca. 1788–1796). This delicate etching depicts a soup tureen, its matching plate, and spoon, showcasing a "modern" form that bridged Rococo exuberance and emerging Neoclassicism.
