About this artwork
In this statue of Amen-Ra, the principal deity of the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, his sun disk and double plume crown (here viewable as partial remains) represent his mystical powers, such as bringing light to the sky. In the Rick Owens ensemble, a light bulb helmet is reminiscent of the physical and mythological characteristics of Amen- Ra’s double plume crown.
