About this artwork
This painting reveals a glimpse of the opulent interior of Schleissheim, a palace outside Munich that was the home of Prince Luitpold of Bavaria. A few years after Herman Hartwich toured the palace, Luitpold became regent of Bavaria when his nephew, King Louis II---known to history as âMad Ludwigâ---was judged unfit to rule.
