Berthe Morisot was one of the few women to participate in the Impressionists’ group exhibitions and is remembered today for her intimate depictions of the everyday lives of women in Paris and its exurbs during her time. In this drypoint, she depicts one of her favorite models, Jeanne-Marie Fourmanoir, reclining on a couch in the artist’s studio.
