How to Create a Virtual Exhibition
An exhibition on Artheon is a curated, ordered selection of artworks with your narrative around it — like a museum show, except the collection you draw from spans the Met, the Rijksmuseum, the National Gallery of Art, and four more museums, plus everything the community has published. You choose the works; the museum is already yours.
You will need
- A free Artheon account
- An idea — a theme, an artist, a mood, a story

Create the exhibition
From the menu choose Create Exhibition (or go to artheonmuseum.org/exhibitions/create). Give it a title and a description, set the dates, and choose public or private. Click create — you now have an empty exhibition to fill.
The description is your curator’s statement. A sentence about why these works belong together turns a list into a show.

Add artworks from the edit page
Open your exhibition and go to its Edit page. Search the collection by title, and add works with one click. You can also upload your own pieces straight into the exhibition from here.

Add artworks as you browse
The other way: while exploring the museum, every artwork page has an “Add to Exhibition” button when you are signed in. Wander the collection, and collect as you go.

Order the works
On the Edit page, use the arrows to arrange the sequence. Order is your narrative — chronological, thematic, or building toward one centerpiece.
Ten to twenty works is the sweet spot: enough to sustain a theme, few enough that every piece earns its place.

Share it
Your exhibition has a public page you can send to anyone — no account needed to visit. It also appears in the Exhibitions section for other visitors to discover.
