How to Publish Your Artwork
Artheon has a living wing built by artists working today. Publishing takes a few minutes: you upload an image, describe the work, choose how others may use it, and it goes live on your own artist page — in the same museum as Rembrandt and Hokusai.
You will need
- A free Artheon account (sign in with Google or email)
- An image of your work — JPG, PNG, or WebP. Bigger is better: the site generates all display sizes from what you upload.

Open the Upload page
Sign in, then choose Upload Artwork from the menu (under CREATE), or go directly to artheonmuseum.org/upload. Make sure the Image tab is selected.

Add your image
Drag your file in or click to browse. You can add several works in one session — each file becomes its own artwork. The title is pre-filled from the file name; you will refine it next.
Photograph paintings straight-on in even daylight, without flash. A crooked or glare-marked photo is the most common reason a good work looks bad online.

Describe the work
Give it a real title, your artist name, the year, medium, and a short description. This text is what search engines and visitors find — “Oil on canvas, 2024. A winter view of the Neva embankment” works better than leaving it blank.

Choose a license
Pick a Creative Commons license: CC0 places the image in the public domain; CC BY lets others reuse it with credit; the NC and ND variants restrict commercial use and modifications. This choice controls whether visitors can download your work, and it is shown on the artwork page.
Unsure? CC BY-NC-ND is the most protective option that still lets people share your work with credit.

Publish
Click Upload. Your work goes live immediately: it gets its own artwork page, appears on your artist page, and can be added to collections, exhibitions, and 3D galleries — yours or other curators’.
Your artwork now lives at its own address you can share anywhere. Next, consider placing it in a virtual exhibition or hanging it in a 3D gallery of your own.
