About this artwork

The left half of a fireplace wall, showing the mirror frame, terminates in a volute. Within the mirror area, a reduced, similar scheme is depicted. A vertical carved panel with a figure of Fame and a fountain below is at left. Both chimneywalls are decorated with carved ornaments and foliage. This is probably an alternate design for those published in Livre de Differentes Decorations d'Apartements, Suite SS.
