About Jean-François Millet

1814–1875France

French painter, draftsman, and drafter, famous primarily for his images of peasants. Although he was a prominent member of the Barbizon School, he concentrated on genre scenes rather than landscapes, and while his works are classical in composition, they are treated with Realist details.
